We are continuously looking for motivated students and researchers to join us in exploring the vast realm of AMO Physics and Physical Chemistry through computational means. Within the JPR Group, students are encouraged to display curiosity and diligence but also remain socially connected, jovial, and enthusiastic about research. JPR Group Members understand the vital importance of friendship, discussion, and collaboration within the group, as well as openness to new research pursuits.

As a mentor, Jesús demonstrates a deep appreciation for his research group and an unwavering determination to guide his students to achieve the highest level of success both in research and in life. One of his top priorities is to make sure his advisees enjoy what they are doing – he is willing to modify or even replace a project if progress is slow and reluctant. Jesús believes that to learn most effectively, one should rely less on generative artificial intelligence and videos, and more on reading books, trial-and-error, and discussions with colleagues and experts. Of course, he practices what he preaches: he loves entertaining the group members’ day-to-day physics questions, lending textbooks for inspiration, and motivating them to learn.
